5th Principle of Reiki

The 5th Principle of Reiki

The 5th Principle of Reiki is: Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

An excerpt from the Renewed Spirit Reiki 1 Workbook sums this principle up perfectly...

"Kindness is something that can be created, but not given.  This is because kindness is a state of being, not an action.  We must all create kindness within ourselves by understanding that we are all at different stages on the same spiritual path.  We are all connected.  We are all perfect.

If we are kind, even in times of adversity, then kindness has become a permanent part of our autonomic response system.  We become kind people.  This does not mean we
let others walk all over us, for we must first be kind to ourselves.

By living in kindness we live in a way that is most beneficial to our mental well-being.

By living in kindness, we honor all that is with the grace and love of our spirit.

We honor the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and all that sustains us.  Everything that surrounds us is a living object when looked at from an atomic level, so our kindness and respect must be infinite."

This principle is all about giving and receiving as well. When we are kind, we add love to the world and that love affects the whole energy make-up of
our planet...and Lord knows, this planet needs more LOVE!! When we give love we are not only uplifting others, but we receive that love back...times 10!

Everyone wins!!!

Blessings for a lifetime of Kindness and Love-based Actions♥

4th Principle of Reiki

The 4th Principle of Reiki

The 4th Principle of Reiki: Just for today, I will do my work Honestly.

As seen narrowly, the 4th Reiki Principle is reminding us to do just what it says...do our work with honest intentions. However, what this priniciple is really asking us to do is to be honest in EVERY step that we take. This is not just at our paid jobs, with our families and friends, during our activities, or even in volunteer positions...but in EVERY waking moment of our lives.

Living in honesty requires us to live with AWARENESS. We are aware of our thoughts, our words, our actions, and our intentions. When we live with awareness, we see in a truthful light where our
thoughts and actions are truly stemming from. We can ask ourselves these questions to discover their orgin:

*Where are my thoughts, words, and actions truly
 coming from?
*Are they coming from a place of light and positivity
or are they  coming from a negative dark place?
*Am I happy with my life?
*Am I doing a job that I love?
*Am I satisfied with the people I surround myself
 with?
*What activites bring me the most joy?
*Have I been stressed out lately?
*Am I unhappy with any area of my life?
*Could one positive or negative factor be influencing
 other areas of my life?

Reviewing our lives and asking ourselves these hard questions allows us to break down situations separately, so we may have a more accurate and
honest picture. We become aware of an honest view of our lives and how it effects every step we take.

Living in honesty and awareness then requires us to take RESPONSIBILITY concerning our intentions, thoughts, words, and actions. Now that we are aware of them and their origin, what will we DO with what we find?

*Do I spread the positivity I get from the joyous
 areas in my life?
*Do I allow negative thoughts and judgements to slip
in and out of my mind?
*How do these thoughts and judgements effect
 myself and others?
*Do I allow these thoughts to materialize and
transform into potentially harmful words or
behaviors that may effect myself and others?
*Am I living and accepting a status quo?
*Am I taking ACTION to make my life more full and
 joyous?
*What can I do to secure my positive mind frame
and support my positive life choices?

Living life honestly is not an easy task. It takes time, dedication, inner strength, confidence, and endurance. But, if we place ourselves and our true happiness first and live a life based on dedication to our true calling from a Higher Divine source, then doing our work honestly will become second nature.

Blessings for a day full of honesty, awareness, and responsibility!

3rd Principle of Reiki

The 3rd Principle of Reiki

I am GRATEFUL!!!!!

The 3rd Principle of Reiki is: Just for today, I will be
grateful.

This principle is seemingly a bit easier to realize and
exercise than some of the others. But what is being grateful? What does gratitude mean to you?

Gratitude can be just as simple as saying thank you,
smiling, saying good words, appreciating the simple things we often take for granted, or forgiveness. Gratitude can improve the lives of others, which in
turn, heals our hearts and others'.

The most important aspect to remember about Gratitude is intention. It is our inner intention that matters most and will effect how our Gratitude is perceived. When we open our hearts and nurish the Spirit of Love in a pure way, it brings joy not only to our Spirits but those that we love as well.

To activate the Principle of Gratitude within ourselves we can take a second out of our busy days, and with one breath - open our hearts, and quickly scan all of the good things in our lives and what we are thankful for. Take a second to deeply appreciate what we have been given and reflect on how these positive things effect our lives. Then, it's up to you if and how you want to show your appreciation and love towards others!

I am deeply grateful for my children, husband, family, friends, experiences, awareness, connection with God, love, breath of life, and opportunities to share miracles with others. They are the Light during times of darkness. All else falls to the side when I concentrate on what I am truly grateful for in this Life. They fill my heart with joy, raise my Spirit, and solidify my path in this lifetime.

Graditude. Awareness. Appreciation. Love.

What are you grateful for?

2nd Principle of Reiki

The 2nd Principle of Reiki

The 2nd Principle of Reiki states: Just for today, Do Not Worry

How can I incorporate this 2nd principle in my modern day life?

We can can empower this statement and bring it into action in our lives by stating, "I release thoughts of worry from my mind."

Neal Harris, a liscensed clinical professional counsler, RMT IARP, and managing director of Relax4Life, suggests that we think about the times of day that we engage in worry and see if we can recognize the worry that lives inside us. Dive into this feeling and ponder these questions...Am creating a situation where I am worrying about a future event that hasn't even happened yet? Is is possible that this event may NOT affect me in a negative way or have a negative emotional impact on me if I do not have this worry energy inside me already? If your answer is yes, then it is necessary to concentrate on flushing out this "worry energy" so that you may be able to function freely, without any emotional anxiety, and enjoy that future event to the fullest.

How do I flush out this "worry energy"?

~Exercise
~Talking to a friend or therapist
~Meditation/Prayer
~Massage
~Reiki-A wonderfully proven technique that helps release stagnant worry energy. Reiki energy bursts up the worry emotion and transform this energy to helping and healing energy for growth.
~Mental Visualization-Here is one techniqe that is effective in draining negative energy while grounding you at the same time:
Stand with you feet firmly planted. Imagine large thick tree roots, rooting into the ground. Close your eyes and envision a beautiful white light surrounding your entire being. With a few large breaths, envision all of your worry and tension draining down your body-starting from your head and working it's way down to your feet-with every exhale. Feel and see the worry and anxiety drain down into those large tree roots, emptying away from your body and energy field. Continue to do this as many times as necessary, until you feel relaxed, in control, and free of the "worry energy." If you are religious or spiritual, ask whatever Deity you are comfortable with to bless and protect this beautiful white bubble you are in and help transform this new energy into healing energy of growth. You are now more equipped to face whatever event you have coming without the worry to accompany it.

Enjoy life's moments to the fullest, without the burden of worry.

1st Principle of Reiki

The 1st Priniciple of Reiki

The 1st Reiki Principle is: Just For Today Don't Be Angry

We can actively put this into practice and EMPOWER ourselves by saying, "I release angry thoughts and feelings. I will be at peace with myself and the world." Life's many day to day activities and
interactions are sure to create various stressful and trying experiences.

How many times a day do you want to let out a scream of frustration or roll your eyes in annoyance? Even as I write this piece, I am inundated with
various frustrating distractions;) Such is life.

However, I try to turn my attention back to this comforting mantra and control my breath...bring my mind back to peace. To be stressed is human, but if we can achieve INNER PEACE
(even
just for a moment), anger cannot exist.

The 5 Principles of Reiki

Five sacred Reiki Principles were founded by Dr. Mikao Usui and have been handed down through history and are available to us all to make each day a better day. It takes a conscious effort to materialize these principles into physical form, but with practice, we can use them to transform our lives and positively affect the lives of those that are around us.

1. Just for today, I will not be angry.
2. Just for today, I will not worry.
3. Just for today, I will be grateful.
4. Just for today, I will not worry.
5. Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
